Get your website into the search engines including Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Note that this is only the very first step your business website engages with search engines, and it has no guarantee for your website to rank high up in the search results. For each specific search engine, you should sign in to their respective webmaster tools, such as Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Step 3:

List your business information (including especially your business name, phone number, business address, etc) on Google local business (i.e. My Business). You must make sure your business information is valid and up-to-date. Many people are using their mobile phones, and they search local stores and local businesses on Google Maps. There is always a very good chance that people may find your business information on Google Maps.

Step 4:

Create a blog for your local business. After you have launched your local business website, it is not difficult anymore to add a blog on it. A blog is for you and your business to showcase your expertise in your industry. For example, if your “product” is to provide website design service to clients, then the articles/content of your blog is going to be about how to build professionally beautiful website, or how to develop websites that are SEO friendly, etc.

Step 5:

Very soon you may find that most of the product keywords that are directly related to your business are not ranking anywhere near the first few pages of Google or Yahoo. This is a time when you seek external help or professional assistance. You may want to hire an experienced SEO team from a local agency or an SEO consultant to help your website to improve SEO ranking.
